… and already has the respect of employees, including being the one they go to for assistance. Internal hiring is also beneficial to the organization. As one author describes, internal hiring generates higher employee commitment, development, and satisfaction, because it offers opportunities for career advancement to employees rather than outsiders (Daft 426). Essentially, this solution means giving a title for what this employee already does. This change would provide the leadership required at minimum cost and with minimum disruption.
Overall, it has been seen that the lack of leadership in the department is a problem that needs addressing. The solution of appointing the senior staff member leader deals effectively with the problem by providing leadership, while also avoiding the problems of hiring a full-time manager.
