A review of the movie “The Searchers”.

… this movie, Ford characterizes of some of the “tamers” of the Wild West as less than decent and honorable men.
In conclusion, The Searchers is an excellent example of the great American Western. It contains all the element of the western, from the traditional characters, and simple plot to themes of family and decency. However, in his complex exploration of Comanche family life, and his portrayal of the “tamers” of the Wild West as less than decent and honorable men, director John Ford manages to bring an element of complexity to the movie.
