Medicaire Reform Essay Sample

Luther also objects on the way the Bible is written only in Latin. Latin is a language known only to the priesthood and a few other elites. He argued that it was unfair of the Pope to stop translations of the Bible. Ordinary people could not read Latin. Hence, it’s unfair for the ordinary people because they had to rely on what their priest told them.
With Luther’s call for reforms in the Roman Catholic Church, a movement called “Lutherans” was established. However, this movement bothered Luther because his intention is just to reform the distortions of the faith while retaining the Catholic tradition of 1500 years. Other reformers on the other hand, such as Ulrich Zwingli and John Calvin, who were in agreement with Luther’s criticisms of the Roman church, converted Luther’s movement into a crusade that eventually affected all political and social structures of the Western world. As renewal continued, German Lutheran territories submitted their proposals for reform at the imperial assembly at Augsburg in 1530.
