Experiences in taking the survey
The survey enabled me to weigh the importance of managerial skills and analyze which areas I excel and determine those that need improvement. Being a member of an organization requires participation, teamwork, leadership, communication and cooperation, without these qualities, the group may not be able to fulfill a specific task and may possibly result into conflict. Aside from that, I also found out that risk management measures and the ability to work under pressure helps save time and paves a way to avoid making mistakes.
Degree to which the self-survey fits my image
The self-survey enlightened me to the idea of pushing my capabilities beyond the limit. It helped me know myself better by pointing out my specific strengths and weaknesses. Every individual have innate aptitudes thus, it is important that the will to learn and harness one’s skill is consistent with the application of such. One must learn the essence of being the best.
Strengths in leadership
I believe that every leader must understand the importance of being a good member. To be a competent leader involves understanding the quintessence of his or her subordinates so as to pinpoint the areas which need development and maximize their potential. Furthermore, among the different kinds of leadership, the most effective is the participative form. In such a way, the leader shall gain the trust and loyalty of its members, in return the whole organization benefits with harmonious collaboration from both the administration and its manpower.
Areas suggested in the survey that requires improvement
The results in the survey suggests that I try to improvise my time management skill as I sometimes have the tendency to over think and panic in the midst of pressure. I also need to learn how to maximize my skills and not feel intimidated which then leads to anxiety, which later affects my performance as well as my attitude.
Consistency in the workplace in connection with the survey
I used to have the perception that a workplace does not need to create a form of bond or friendship and that everything should be within the pyramid of professionalism. Hierarchy and level of power is a considerably one of the vital areas that I consider is in need to be preserved so as to fully get the understanding that a leader has more power than that of a member.
Steps to strengthen overall competence
Organizational behavior emphasizes that diversity within the workplace can be a tool for destruction or an armor for excellence. The latter would be by means of getting more diverse ideas and having the chance to think outside of the box as a variation of ideas may fill a brainstorming session. Hence the other is the result of poor management and decision-making skills which results the clash of ideas and sometimes, the downfall of an organizational structure.
Opinion to the survey
The survey enlightened me on the idea that different organizations require varied forms of leadership. For example, small-scaled firms would work best in a participative and democratic form—it creates a tight relationship from the management and its staff thus creating a larger room for improvement. However, large-scale enterprise connotes a higher risk in terms of management and financial draw outs which then suggests that the head of the company should be proficient in creating forecasting measures and contingency plans. Consequently though, a tyrant leader is found to be ineffective in any scenario, a leader must keep in mind that a company’s greatest asset is it manpower pool armed with training and constant motivation.
