Parent’s involvement and support is a crucial element for students’ success in school setting. In order to engage parents in educational progress and development of their children, schools should organize frequent educational programs and volunteering activities that should aim to raise parents’ awareness level on their roles and responsibilities as extended educators. Pasadena High School has taken a pro-active approach to achieve parent’s integration in student’s development program by reaching out to parents through telephone calls, e-mails and letters, providing information about the school program of students, along with names of their advisor and head teachers, providing a direct route to parents for following up performance of their children.

During the Music Educators National Conference, Royer (1994) spoke about music to music educators across the country. The author speaks on Justify Your Program which he yearned to do across the country. In his words he states that,

Music can be considered a universal language. It affirms the diversity of human experience across cultures. It unites the human family, revealing profound common experiences in a language that can be understood by all. It stimulates the mind, opens the eyes to inspired vision, and stirs the deepest yearnings of the human spirit. Music is also the language of young children, and if civility is to be sustained, the teaching of music in all its richness surely must be at the very heart of the core curriculum in every school (p. 1).
