Whatever Happens, Happens For The Good Essay

In every family, there are certain mottos and phrases that are very commonly used especially by the elders in order to teach lessons to the children. Just like that, there was one phrase that was very commonly used by my elders especially by my grandmother who always used to say that “whatever happens happens for the good.” By saying this, she wanted to teach me, my siblings and my cousins’ patience and never to get disappointed with any negative thing that came in our way. My grandmother believed that everything bad always brings something good with it and so we should not get angry or disheartened in any situation but we should always thank God for everything that He has given to us.

When I was young, I was a very hyper and restless child who used to get annoyed very soon. Being the first child of the family, I was very much pampered and as everybody loved me a lot, my elders always fulfilled most of my desires. However, in case anything bad used to happen with me or if I was not able to get any of my desires fulfilled, I used to get irritated and my grandmother always used to explain me not to be sad. She further used to say that everything happens according to the wishes of God as He has created the world and it is His right to do anything.

Now that I am a grown up, I now recall her words and I have a strong believe in this phrase and they have a great power on me as I have myself experienced many times in which I was hurt but I myself realized that it was for good and that God can never be wrong and whatever He gives or takes away from us is for our own benefit as He can never be unjust to anyone on Earth. 1
